Saying Goodbye

Euthanasia

We understand how difficult it is to say goodbye to a beloved pet. Dr. Kline will work with your family to create a calm, soothing environment for your pet. The procedure can take place indoor or outdoor at your home (weather permitting), in your pet’s favorite resting spot, surrounded by their family.

It is a three-part procedure where Dr. Kline gives a treat mixed with medications (so please wait to spoil your pet with food until she gets there), then an injection in the neck scruff once your pet is “feeling good” from the treat. This injection will cause your pet to fall asleep gently. Once asleep and not responding to stimulation, a tiny needle is placed in a vein in the back leg and the final injection is administered. Then, Dr. Kline will listen carefully for a heartbeat and let you know when your pet has passed. Once you’ve had time to visit privately, VetMobile will transport your pet for cremation or help you gently ready your pet for burial.

A phone or text consultation is required for all new clients. This allows you to ask questions and for us to review the process from arrival to departure.

This consultation can be abbreviated for urgent euthanasia needs; however, we cannot guarantee our staff is available for emergencies or after hours needs.
